Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Michael P. “Hanns” Grabowski, 48, of the Indian Orchard section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Friday, January 8, 2021. He passed into Eternal Life at his parent’s home in Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on November 10, 1972, a beloved son of Michael A. Grabowski of Holyoke and the late Diane Lucille (Demers) Niemiro who was Called Home on August 23, 2020. He was raised in Indian Orchard and was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He was employed as a Tractor Trailer Operator for the ABC Supply Company in Springfield. During his leisure time, Hanns enjoyed a good cigar, was an avid poker player and enjoyed going to Hampton Beach where he loved eating at Sabos Subs. An avid New England sports fan, he was always ready to cheer on his beloved teams. Most of all, Hanns was the “life of the party” and loved his family and his many friends. He leaves his three loving daughters, Gianna E. Grabowski and her fiancé, Ted Rios, of Russell, Amaya M. Grabowski of Indian Orchard and Ashlan R. Closser of Hampden; his loving step-daughter, Ashley Allen of Westfield; his three cherished grandsons, Gavin, Conner and Nolan; his loving father and step-mother, Michael A. Grabowski and his wife, Amy L. (Flebotte) Grabowski, of Holyoke; his loving grandfather, Edmond Flebotte of Agawam; his three dear brothers, Adam Grabowski and his wife, Rose, of Holyoke and Nicholas and Matthew Niemiro, both of Brimfield; and his many dear uncles, aunts, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. His family will receive friends on Friday, January 15, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (431-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (the parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will be private. (Please note that masks are required in the funeral home and the church with limited capacity per State regulations).
