Obituary

William H. “Hoppy” Keating, 72, of Hampstead, NH passed away on Thursday January 7, 2021 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital, Lebanon NH surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born on August 4, 1948 in Troy NY. The only son of Henry Raymond and Marjorie (Williams) Keating. Hoppy graduated from LaSalle Institute and Siena College. Bill began his career with Stewart Shops and transitioned to the General Electric Co, where he worked for 47 years, retiring from the Aircraft Engine division in Hooksett NH.

Bill was an active parishioner for over 37 years at St Anne’s Parish in Hampstead. He spent copious hours volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America with his son and grandsons. Hoppy got his lifelong nick name from his childhood hero, Hop-a-long Cassidy and spending countless hours recreating scenes from his favorite episodes. He enjoyed long drives in his Porsche with his wife, Mim, traveling and was an avid golfer. Bill will be remembered for his hearty laugh and gift of gab, finding time to strike up a conversation with anyone. More than anything Bill loved his family above all and never missed a moment. His presence at family gatherings will be greatly missed.

Bill leaves behind daughter Deanna R Seccareccio and husband Robert of Hampstead, son Todd Keating and wife Rachel of Illinois, and son Drew Keating and husband William of Concord. Also survived by two grandsons, Tyler and Jake Seccareccio of Hampstead, two granddaughters, Lilianna and Elissa Keating of Illinois, two sisters, Jean Keating and Ellen Malone and several nieces. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Renee M (Collette) Keating, his parents and sister Veronica.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 4 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately for family only at St. Anne’s Parish, Hampstead at 11:00am on Tuesday January 12, 2021. Those who would like to attend virtually are invited to do so at www.saintannechurchnh.org and click livestream. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampstead. Due to State of NH guidelines, all guests are required to wear masks, minimize contact and maintain social distancing.
