Joseph J. Hyde, 88 died Tuesday, March 14, 2006 after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Clare E. (Sheehan) Hyde. He was born in Brockton, a son of the lateDaniel and Mary E. (Kelleher) Hyde. Mr. Hyde was a lifelong resident of Brockton and attended St. Patrick School and was a graduate of Brockton High School. During WW II he served in the US Navy Stationed in San Diego. He was employed for 40 years with the Bay State Gas Company in Brockton. He retired in 1979 as a supervisor of meter readers and he also worked part time at the Foxborough Race Track. Mr. Hyde was a communicant of St. Margaret Church most recently St. Ann Church, W. Bridgewater. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Ridders Country Club.
Mr. Hyde is survived by four daughters, Ann Poliseno and her husband Ronald of Brockton, Mary Hyde of Brockton, Clare Boyce and her husband Kevin of Canton and Jean Sibley and her husband Mark of Hanson, a son, Joseph J. Hyde, Jr. and his wife Linda of North Easton, a sister Evelyn Burke of Brockton, eight grandchildren, Christopher and Jeffrey Poliseno, Trevor and Cameron Boyce, Kelsey and Cory Hyde, Kyle and Cody Sibley and several nieces and nephews.
He was the husband of the late Clare E. (Sheehan) Hyde and brother of the late Francis Hyde and Eleanor Caldwell.
