Obituary

Charles F. Duncan, 81, of Franklin, died Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Milford Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (MacNeil) Duncan and Kathleen Sullivan.

Born in Weymouth on July 12, 1939, he was the son of the late William C. and Alice (O’Hara) Duncan.

Charles grew up in Jamaica Plain and resided in Medway and Mansfield until moving to Franklin ten years ago.

He proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War era.

Retiring at the age of 59 as a manager, Charles worked for the former CIBA Corning in Medfield for over 30 years.

He enjoyed painting, reading, walking, and traveling, as well as playing cribbage and chess.

Charles is survived by his daughter Laura Flanagan and her husband Michael of Medway, his daughter Sharon Tight and her husband Garrett of Medway, his son Steven Duncan and his wife Moira of Franklin, and six grandchildren: Kevin and Connor Flanagan, Alex and Hannah Tight, and Molly and Liam Duncan.

He is also survived by his sister Doris Pagliaro of Braintree, Kathleen Sullivan’s daughters Donna Glassman, Lorraine Galanti, and Tracey Tavares, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Harold, William, George, and John Duncan, Mary McLaughlin, and Cora Gray.

A private funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Church in Medway followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Charles’ memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.
