Thaddeus B. “Ted” Donovan, age 50, of Raynham, died unexpectedly December 31, 2020 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. Ted was the loving husband for 18 years of Katie M. (Brown) Donovan. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late John P. and Maureen P. “Molly” Donovan. Ted was a 1988 graduate of Brockton High School and Bridgewater State College, class of 2000. With a heart as big as himself, Ted was a social worker currently working for the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission. Previously, he worked for Old Colony Elder Services and Genzyme.
Ted’s family and the time spent with them was important to him. He enjoyed fishing and coaching baseball and was a longtime member of the Enterprise Club. He was a former member of the Raynham Youth Baseball and Softball Association, where both his sons played. He also loved his weekly virtual poker games.
In addition to his wife Katie, Ted is survived by his children Ashley, Shane and Zachary. He was the brother of Tim Donovan and his wife Danielle of Berkley, Tara Donovan of Bridgewater and Ty Donovan and his partner Jack Veiga of Plymouth; son in law of Kathy and Bob Brown of West Bridgewater and brother in law of George Brown of Pittsboro, NC, Matt Brown and his wife Julie of Bridgewater and Lori Picanco of Stoughton. Ted is also survived by his aunt Patricia “Cookie” Poliseno, godmother Kathy Bedore, many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 12-3pm. Following COVID guidelines, masks must be worn and social distancing observed in the funeral home, with a maximum of 25 people in the funeral home at any one time.
