WORCESTER__ Leonard F. “Lenny” Demarski, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2021 in his home.
Leonard was born on October 8, 1941 in Worcester, MA. He was the son of the late Frank and Sophie Demarski. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and went on to work for Ford Motor Company in Natick, MA and continued to work for them when the company moved to New Jersey. He retired from Ford in 2006 after working there for over 45 years and moved back to the family home.
He leaves his son, Jeffrey Demarski and his partner Aimee of Fitchburg; his brothers, Robert Demarski and his wife Mary, and Edward Demarski, both of Worcester; his aunt, Irene DePadua of Shrewsbury; his niece, Kara (James) Hansson of Paxton; his nephews, Keith (Renee) Demarski of E.Brookfield, Brian Demarski with whom Lenny lived with, Edward (Leanne) Demarski of Rutland and Michael Demarski of Florida. He also leaves many great nieces and nephews and cousins. Lenny was also predeceased in death by his brother, John Demarski.
Lenny was a happy guy who liked to make people laugh. He was a comedian and sometimes a magician much to his family’s enjoyment. He enjoyed going to the races and at one time was part owner of a trotter. He enjoyed his trips to the casino and lots of scratch tickets! Most of all Lenny loved the lake. He would spend hours just picking rocks and weeds out of the waterfront and puttering in the garden and planting flowers.
The family would like to recognize Lenny’s good friends, Billy Alubavicius and Raymer Rennie for their great friendship, their compassion, their help and care to Lenny which made it possible for him to remain in the family home on the lake until his death. We are eternally grateful.
Due to the pandemic, funeral services and burial in Notre Dame Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions in memory of Lenny, may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., is directing the funeral arrangements.
