Robert W. Phipps Sr.,70, of Anderson, died January 2, 2021 Community Hospital in following a brief illness. He was born on November 5, 1950 in Monterey, Tennessee, the son of Fate and Ella (Harris) Phipps. Robert was a brick mason and enjoyed building race cars and racing at Anderson Speedway.
Robert is survived by his wife Bertha (Willhoite) Phipps; 4 children Robert Phipps Jr.( Jenny), Davy Phipps (Melissa Vaughn), Michael Phipps (Nedra) and Carrie Webb (Jason); many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Mil Ligon, Larry Phipps, and Janet Beaty; several nieces and nephews; 2 stepsons, Elliott and Randall Swallows.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Louise and Emmet McClure, Beacher and Ann Phipps, Paul Phipps, Betty Ruth Phipps, and David Phipps.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 12Noon until 2PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service- West End Chapel.
A private funeral service for family only will be held and Entombment will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
