Porzelt, Michael G. of Roslindale, recently retired from the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, passed away January 3, 2021, surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with cancer. Beloved husband for 44 years to Mary (DiStasio) Porzelt. Loving father of Kerri Saracino & her husband Mark of East Longmeadow, Stacy of Roslindale, and Michael Jr. & his wife Rachael of Walpole. Devoted Papa to Morgan, Jeffrey, Elyse, Keagan, Leah, Addison, and Savannah. He is also survived by his sisters Eileen Williams, Marianne Anderson & her husband Doug, and Patricia Swain of Lake Worth, FL. Son-in-law of Paul and the late Frances DiStasio of Roslindale. Also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael was predeceased by his parents Andrew & Rosemarie (Gagne) Porzelt of Lake Worth, FL. Sisters Anne Wolensky of Fort Lauderdale, FL. and Michele McLean of Readville.
A visitation will be held at the P.E. Murray-F.J. Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St. West Roxbury, on Wednesday, January 6, from 4-8pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday, January 7, at 10:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Roslindale at 11:30 am. Relatives and Friends kindly invited, please follow all covid-19 guidelines. Interment private.
