Obituary

Mary A. Doyle (Velardocchia), of Wakefield passed away on Thursday, December 31. She was 86 years old. Mary is the beloved wife of Paul G. Doyle. Born in Medford, she is the cherished daughter of the late Frank and Antoinette (Assortato) Velardocchia.

Mary was a homemaker who was very devoted to her four children. She went back to work in the clerical/retail field after her children were grown. Her last job was at the Harvard Coop in Harvard Sq, Cambridge. Mary enjoyed nights out to dinner with friends and family, going to the movies, going dancing, spending summer days in Rockport and going to the casinos. She loved the holidays. Every New Year’s Eve, Mary along with her family would go out to dinner and celebrate the coming of the New Year. She loved time spent with her children and grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Most of all, she enjoyed the time she spent with her devoted husband who was the love of her life for over 62 years. She was a dedicated wife, a loving mom, a caring grandmother, a dear friend, a kind and forgiving person who was also a devout catholic and she will be greatly missed by all.

Mary was the devoted mother of Christine M. Brady and her husband David of Lawrence, Carolyn A. Colarusso and her husband Thomas of Quincy, Cathleen E. Antuono of Bow, NH, and Paul J. Doyle and his wife Michele of Londonderry, NH. She was the adored grandmother of Candace Popoloski and her husband Jason, Kayleigh Withington and her husband Matt, Julian Colarusso, Mark and Matthew Glynn, Paul and Taryn Antuono, Ashley Doyle, Thomas Colarusso, Matt Doyle and Tess Antuono. Mary was the dear sister of Daniel Velardocchia and his wife Connie of North Andover, the late Cosmo Velardocchia and his late wife Florence and the late Angelo Velardocchia and his surviving wife Ann of Carlisle. Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, MA, on Tuesday, January 12, from 9 to 11AM, followed by a funeral Mass beginning at 11AM.

Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
