Obituary

Ruth E. (Stack) Anderson passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 1, 2021 at The Blaire House of Milford due to complications of dementia. She was 77.

Ruth was born on April 20, 1943 in Milford Hospital. She was the wife of Alfred J. Anderson who she shared 55 years of marriage with. She was a lifelong resident of Franklin. She graduated from Franklin High School class of 1960. She graduated from Peabody Secretarial School and then began her career as secretary for the Department of Public Works in Franklin. She then went on to be the head of the mortgage department at Benjamin Franklin Savings Bank. She ended her career working as the Assistant Town Clerk for the Town of Franklin. Everyone knew her bright smile and friendly welcome at the town hall.

She was a talented artist and craftsman, she loved to garden and was known to “borrow” flowers from all. Ruth & Fred spent the past 35 years at their condo in Aruba, One Happy Island. They traveled extensively with family and friends enjoying the sites of Italy, Cayman Island and Puerto Vallarta. She was happiest at the beach sitting in the sun & searching for sea shells. She passed her love for all things nature and the beach to her grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her son Scott & his wife Stacey Anderson, her daughter Christine and her husband Scott Ryan and her three grandchildren, Trevor & Megan Anderson & Alex Ryan.

She was the sister of Martha Maher & Beth Mucciarone, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Richard & Beatrice Stack. She was the daughter-in-law of Andy & Sara Anderson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Wednesday Jan. 6th, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM. To view the Mass click stmarysfranklin.org

Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 3-6PM.

Please remember due to Covid-19 public wakes are held at capacity limits and mean that your visit to the funeral home should be brief to allow other guests time to pay their respects to the family. Face coverings are required at the funeral home and church.
