Joyce Lorene House Griffin, 85, passed away in the Yalobusha County Hospital on Tuesday, March 14, 2006. Born in Water Valley, MS, Mrs. Griffin was a retired Practical Nurse at the Yalobusha Hospital for years and years. She was married to the late Ivy L. "Pat" Griffin (Deceased -July 9, 1983) and was the daughter of William House and Joyce Neal House. Mrs. Griffin was a longtime member of Camp Ground Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Saturday, March 18, 2006 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon, March 19, 2006 in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. Conducting the service will be Rev. Troy Hurdle, Rev. Ross Robertson, and Rev. Pat Wilbourne. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
She is survived by her two daughters, Patsy Griffin Denham of Water Valley, MS and Nancy Griffin Vaughn of Oxford, MS and one sister, Erma House Applewhite of Ardmore, OK. Mrs. Griffin leaves behind seven Grandchildren; Robbie Miller, Lorene Schwandner, Patrick F. Wilbourne, Leslie Scott Mills, Kelly Lynn Vaughn, Teresa Morrison and Mark Denham. Eight Great-Grandchildren; Shane Wilbourne, Ronald Miller, Matthew Miller, Zack Mills, Andrea Shelton, John Mills, Shelby Renee' Miller and Brianna Vaughn.
In addition to her parents and husband, "Mr. Pat", she was preceded in death by sisters; LaVerne House Wolfe, Vivian House Lewis, and Grandson, Allen Wayne Mills.
