Obituary

Rosemarie (Asara) Lander, of Medford, formerly of Everett, passed away after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s on Wednesday, December 30th. She was 85. Born and raised in Everett, she was the cherished daughter of the late Mario and Mary (Manganiello) Asara.

Rosemarie was a dedicated employee of Nobo’s for 17 years located in West Medford Square. She loved her job and the fact that it was right down the street from her family home. She was able to check on her children throughout the day. Once Nobo’s closed Rosemarie started working at Kohl’s in Medford. She was an intricate part of their Grand Opening, and then later transferred to their Danvers store.

When Rosemarie was not working, she loved to entertain her family and friends; either in their backyard where they shared memories and laughed the night away or sipping on tea and creating crafts at her kitchen table. Rosemarie was a people person and made friends easily. There was a certain bunch of girlfriends aka “The Mall Girls” they enjoyed walking the Liberty Tree Mall while drinking coffee and catching up on the daily news. Rosemarie’s biggest passion was her family; they were her pride and joy. Rosemarie was a dedicated wife, a great mom, loving Mimi and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.

Rosemarie was the beloved wife of the late James E. Lander. She was the devoted mother of Debra Heenan and her husband Thomas of Medford, Denise DePierro and her husband Robert DiMare of Tewksbury, and the late Dianne DiLando. Loving Mimi of Thomas J. Heenan and his wife Rachel, Kimberly Heenan, Christopher J. Heenan and his wife Jessica, and Marisa DePierro and her loving companion Conner. She was the caring great Mimi of Trevor James Heenan. She was the dear sister of Pauline Cartolaro and her husband Russell, Margaret “Sister” Bonnano and her late husband Sam and John Asara. Rosemarie is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
