Obituary

William J. Slade 80, of Franklin, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday December 29, 2020 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara A. (Pitts) Slade, who died in 2016.

Born June 3, 1940 in Boston, a son of the late William K. and Irene (McMann) Slade he was a former resident of Hernando, FL, Bellingham, MA and West Roxbury, MA.

Bill was raised and educated in Boston, he was a graduate of Mission High School Class of 1957 and was a retired bricklayer, having worked for Boston Local 3.

He was an Honorary Life Member Franklin Lodge of Elks #2136, a Past District Deputy of the Massachusetts Elks, member of St. Mary’s Church, Franklin, MA, Our Lady of Grace Church, Beverly Hills, FL. He was a member and former Knight of the Year at the Abbot Francis Sadlier Council 6168 Knights of Columbus and enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, traveling and reading.

He is survived by his children, William L. Slade of Upton, Kathleen M. Cummings and her husband Donald of Blackstone, John P. Slade of Bellingham, David A. Slade and his wife Mary of Bradenton, FL, and Steven M. Slade and his wife Rebecca of Franklin.

Also surviving are his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass Tuesday Jan. 5th, at 11AM in St. Mary's Church, Franklin You may view the Mass by clicking stmarysfranklin.org

Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
