Obituary

NORTH WATERBORO- Cheryl Ann Howard, 75, of North Waterboro, previously of Limington and Standish, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 28, 2020. She is now with her Savior, Jesus Christ, and has been reunited with her loving husband of almost 50 years, Wayne.
Cheryl was born May 5, 1945 to Irma and Cedric Foster in Lewiston, Maine. She graduated from Windham High School in 1963. Cheryl married the love of her life, Wayne on October 27, 1967. After the doctors told them that they would never be able to have children of their own, Cheryl gave birth to two sons, Steve and Adam. The boys were the pride and joy of Cheryl's life, along with her six grandsons.
Cheryl worked for many years at Whitney's IGA in Standish, where she met, made, and kept many friends for her entire life. She also made many lifelong friends at Control Devices where she worked for several years. Cheryl loved spending time with her friends. Whether it was getting together to play cards or video games, chatting over Chinese food, taking a ceramics class, playing Bingo, or cutting down stop signs (sorry, Mom, we had to mention that!), she was always up for something fun and exciting. Cheryl was also a long-time member of East Limington Baptist Church. She loved each member there like they were her own family, and especially loved talking to all the children who would come up and greet her when she was physically able to attend.
But what Cheryl enjoyed most of all was spending time with her family, especially her grandsons, who she never missed an opportunity to spoil as much as she possibly could.
Cheryl was predeceased by her parents, Irma and Cedric Foster of Standish, her husband, Wayne Howard of Standish, and her older brothers, Don Foster, Alan Foster, and Clyde Foster. She was most recently predeceased by her sisters-in-law Gudrun Howard, and Dolores Harmon, both of Limington. She was also predeceased by many other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law throughout the years who were dear to her heart.
Surviving are Cheryl's sons, Steve Howard and wife Valerie of Baldwin and their boys, Ryan and Alex, and Adam Howard and wife LeighAnn of North Waterboro and their boys, Nathaniel, Noah, Nicholas, and Nash. Cheryl is survived by her brother-in-law Ray Howard of Limington, and sisters-in-law Elaine Dewitt of Limington, Gail DiBiase and husband Frank of Portland, and Sharon Foster of Standish. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who all loved her very much.
The family would like to thank Northern Light Home Care and Hospice for their care and assistance over the years to support Cheryl's desire to remain at home.
Due to COVID, a private memorial service will be held at East Limington Baptist Church on January 9 at 10:00 for Cheryl's immediate family and church family. A graveside service will be scheduled in the spring.
