WORCESTER-Suon T. Chao, 73 of 40 Belmont Street formerly of Vietnam died Thursday, July 18th in the University of Massachusetts Healthcare Center-Memorial Campus after an illness. He leaves his wife of 50 years, Rat Nguyen; 3 sons including; Lam and Son Chau both of Worcester; 6 daughters in Vietnam; 1 sister in Canada; 20 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. 2 brothers and 2 sisters predeceased him.
He was born and raised in Kien Giang, Vietnam the son of Ba Chau and Chung Vo. Mr. Chau attended Vietnam schools and was a self employed farmer there before moving to the United States.
There will be two memorial masses held on Friday, July 19th and Saturday, July 20th at 7:00 PM and one on Sunday, July 21st at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Vilna Church, 151 Sterling Street, Worcester. Calling hours will be Saturday, July 20th in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and Sunday, July 21st from 3:00 until 7:00 PM with a service on Sunday at 5:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Vietnam at the convenience of the family.
