Obituary



Dorothy E. (Noonan) Morton, age 89 of Bridgewater, died December 27, 2020 at Life Care of West Bridgewater after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Robert S. “Bud” Morton. Dorothy was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Gregory and Eileen M. (Doherty) Noonan. For 26 years Dorothy was a resident of High Pond Estates in Bridgewater.

Before her retirement, Dorothy was a housekeeper at Blue Hills Alzheimer’s Care Center in Stoughton for sixteen years. Dorothy enjoyed square dancing with the K-Bars in Weymouth. She traveled with her husband around the United States in their motor home and loved being a member of the Camping-Hoe-Downers Club.

Dorothy was also a member of the Golden Agers in Bridgewater and the High Pond Residents Association, playing bingo, bocce and shuffle board. She also coordinated bus trips for the association.

Dorothy was the loving mother of Laurie Mahoney of Bridgewater and the late Robert S. ”Buddy” Morton, Jr. She leaves her grandchildren Nicholas Morris, Robert S. “Rob” Morton, III; Heather Cuff, Anthony Morton and great grandchildren Heidi Cuff and Parker Morton. Dorothy was the sister of Kathleen Schultz of Arizona and the late Linda Scully, Lawrence “Sonny”, Edward, Robert, Roger, Joseph, Richard “Mushy” and Raymond Noonan.

Visitation will be held at the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Thursday 10:30 – 11:30am followed by a Funeral Service. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. In following COVID guidelines, masks must be worn and social distancing observed. There is a maximum of 25 people in the funeral home at any one time.
