Leo L. LaValley, 87, formerly of Thorpe Street, Greenville, died Christmas Eve at Miriam Hospital in Providence. He was the husband of Shirley (Feeley) LaValley. They had been married for 64 years.
Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Arthur LaValley and Genevieve (Curran) LaValley. He had lived in Greenville for 47 years. He had served in the US Marines during Korea.
Leo had worked as a machinist at Brown and Sharpe.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Susan Chiovitti and her husband, Angelo of Harrisville, a son Lee LaValley of Scituate. His Grandchildren Justin Chiovitti of Orange County CA, Daniel Chiovitti of Harrisville, Krystal LaValley of Wilmington Ma and Lee LaValley Jr. of Scituate.
Leo was also a proud Great Grandfather of Valen Acciacca and Blake Chiovitti.
Caring brother of Harriet Dexter and Hope E Swindell and the late Arthur LaValley, Henry LaValley, Richard LaValley, Genevieve E Wischnowsky and Mary Chatelain.
Leo has returned home and reunited with his late Daughter Coleen Cardarelli.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 10am in St. Joseph Church, Main Street, Scituate. Seating is limited. Face masks and social distancing is mandatory. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
