Obituary

David Prairie was a caring loving father, grandfather, brother and son. He left us on Christmas day, after a long battle with cancer at the age of 61. David spent his final days surrounded by his family whose lives he touched in many ways.

He was Born in Milford January 26, 1959, grew up in Franklin and lived in Blackstone for the past 10 years. He was the son of Jacqueline (Ledbury) Prairie and the late William C. Prairie III, both of Franklin.

He was a 1977 graduate of Franklin High School. David’s passion was in the construction industry and he enjoyed working for many years as a Project Manager for Highrocks Condominiums of Rhode Island. He loved to play horseshoes and softball while beach camping at Sandy Neck with his family.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his two children, Joshua Prairie of Wichita Falls, Texas and Crystal Prairie of Woonsocket, Rhode Island and his 3 Grandchildren, Lucas, Nadia and Nailah Prairie.

He is also survived by his siblings, Richard Prairie of Riverview, Florida, Steven Prairie of Franklin, Jeffrey Prairie of Woodbury, Minnesota, Mark Prairie of Newport, New Hampshire, Scott Prairie of Blackstone, Jennifer Laquerre and her husband Paul of Franklin and he was brother of the late William C. Prairie IV.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on December 30th from 4 to 7PM at the Ginley Funeral Home (www.Ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin, Mass.

A private funeral service for family members will be held the following day. Please follow the Covid 19 regulations, including face masks and social distancing.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in David’s memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215 or the Multiple Sclerosis Society , 101 A 1st Ave. Waltham, MA 02451.
