Obituary

Passed away at St. John’s Hospital
on December 26th, 2020 in Maplewood, MN.
He was 82 years of age. Denny was born on November 14, 1938 in St. Paul, MN to his parents, Lloyd and Margaret (Ray) Carpenter. He graduated from Mounds View High School in 1956. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1960 and was on active duty until discharging honorably. He worked for the City of North St. Paul until his retirement. He served proudly on the North St. Paul Fire Department for 20+ years. Denny was a patient, generous, kind, and caring father, grandfather and friend. He was an avid sportsman, taking many trips with his sons and various family members. He loved to garden and spend time outdoors in nature of all forms. He was always there to lend a helping hand when needed and enjoyed getting together with family and friends. Denny is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Balsimo, Lake Elmo, MN and his sons William (Dawn), Pine City and Christopher (Andrea), River Falls, WI, 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, special friend Carolyn DeLong, Lake Elmo, MN, Uncle Forrest Ray, Forest Lake, MN, former wife Sharon (Larry) Bild and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Margaret, stepfather Hugh Brown and brother Terry. Visitation will take place at Sandberg Funeral Home, 2593 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul, MN on Thursday, 12/31/2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. There will be a private family service preceding with internment at a later date.
