Obituary

Joan M. Russo 84, of Hopedale, died peacefully, Thursday December 24, 2020 “Christmas Eve” at Milford Regional Medical Center, following an illness. She was the beloved wife of Bernard P. Kaufman, with whom she shared 14 years of marriage.

Born June 24, 1936, in Boston, a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Lenzi) Russo, she was a former longtime resident of Franklin until relocating to Hopedale.

She was raised and educated in South Boston and worked as a secretary for Herbert F. Hunter, CPA in Franklin.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo, the piano, trips to the casino and listening to music.

In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by her siblings, Anthony P. Russo of New Hampshire, Joseph J. Russo of Uxbridge, Geri A. Cogliano of Franklin, Theresa M. D’Aniello of Franklin and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Ben Russo.

Due to Covid-19 and the families concern for others, a Celebration of Life will be held in 2021.
