LOWELL—Elizabeth R. (McNamara) Cote, 92 years old, a lifelong resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, died Sunday, March 12th, at the Wentworth Skilled Care Center. She was the wife of the late Ernest C. Cote, who died in June of 1993.
She was born in Lowell, on October 5, 1913, a daughter of the late Francis J. and Anna G. (Kennedy) McNamara, and was a graduate of the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and the Immaculate Conception High School.
Mrs. Cote was a lifelong parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church and held membership in the Holy Rosary Sodality of the parish, the League of Catholic Women, and the Poor Clare Guild. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving her are her four children: Sister Elaine Cote, O.S.F., of St. Raphael’s Convent, West Medford; Paul C., and his wife Diane Cote, of Dalton, OH; Barbara, and her husband Glenn Campbell, Pelham, NH; and Alan J. ‘AJ’ Cote, of Lowell; two grandsons: Brett, and his wife Rachel Cote, of Cincinnati, OH; and Greg, and his fiancé Jenna Edwards, of St. Louis, MO; one great-granddaughter: Graci Campbell; a close family friend: Sister Anne Clare Gallagher, O.S.F., of West Medford; also many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Francis, John, Paul, William and Walter McNamara.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 PM on Wednesday, March 15th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith St. (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered Thursday, March 16th, at 11 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
