Obituary



Peter J DeAngelo, of Medford, formerly of Boston’s West End, passed away on Wednesday, December 23rd. He was 86. Born and raised in Boston’s West End, he was the cherished son of the late Benedetto and Concetta (Gattuso) DeAngelo. Peter enlisted into The United States Army in the summer of 1958, serving during the Vietnam War.

Peter was extremely proud of being from the West End. He spent his childhood and adolescent years making everlasting memories not to mention that is where he met the love of his life, Sally. Peter loved working and selling produce from his pushcart business located on Haymarket in Boston. He was an active member of the Haymarket Push Cart Association. When Peter was not working, he loved to spend time at his summer home on Hamilton Beach. Peter enjoyed being around horses, watching the Kentucky Derby on TV; spending time at the stables or helping his son Robert with his race horses.

Peter was the beloved husband of the late Sally (Spagnolo) DeAngelo. He was the devoted father of Richard DeAngelo and his wife Andrea, and Robert DeAngelo. He was the loving Nono of Marc DeAngelo and his fiancée Stephanie Goodman, and Anthony DeAngelo and his loving companion Corina Christopoulos. He was the dear brother of Sandra Porcello and her late husband Bobby. He was the companion of Rosemary Costello.

On behalf of Peter’s family all funeral services are private. In lieu of flower’s contributions may be made in Peter’s name to St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, MA 02155.
