On December 9,1972, the sun rose with the life of John Andre Almeida Delgado. Born in Sao Vicente, Cape Verde, John "Andre" was the first son of João A. and Candida "Cai" Sousa Delgado of New Bedford, MA. He lived most of his life in New Bedford, where he became a close friend to many people. In 1997, John "Andre" moved to Atlanta, GA where he worked in warehouse management.
Those who knew John "Andre" remember him as a fun-loving individual. He brought laughter to many and knew how to put a smile on anyone's face. His fun-loving humor and vibrant personality made him the life of any party or special occasion.
Unexpectedly, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident on March 12, 2006, the sun set on the life of John "Andre".
John "Andre" was loved tremendously and is missed by many. Survivors include: his parents; a 11 year old son, Andre Delgado of Fall River; a six year old daughter, DéAvion Delgado of Atlanta, GA; a brother, Paul Delgado, and his wife Sommer of Atlanta; a sister, Sandra Hyacinth, and her husband John of Atlanta; a maternal grandmother, Adelina Almeida; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins from Brockton, MA, Providence, RI, Atlanta, GA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral service in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday, March 17th at 11 AM.
Visiting hours Thursday, March 16th from 5-9 PM.
