Joseph (Jitzu) W. Dion, 75 of Weymouth, passed away on December 18, 2020 at the South Shore Hospital after a brief illness with Covid-19. Survived by his significant other of 36 years Patricia Philbrook and her children Bonnie Kenney of Whitman, Cathy Jones of Weymouth, and Joel Dugay of Summersville, MO.
Born in Quincy, MA on March 2, 1945 he was the son of the late Thomas and Vivian (Howatt) Dion, Sr. Joe attended schools in Brockton and joined the Job Corps after high school.
Joe worked for many years delivering refrigeration for Cliff Ahearn Commercial Refrigeration and then worked as a machine operator at Symmons Industries until he retired.
Joe enjoyed fishing, watching football and gambling. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was the brother of Paul Dion of Whitman, June Backgren of Rochester, Stephen Dion of N Easton, and the late Thomas Dion, Jr., David Dion and Edward Dion.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at a later date.
