Frederick E. Turnier, 85, of Derry, NH died Monday, March 13, 2006 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH. Mr. Turnier was born in Queens, NY on August 7, 1920, a son of the late Frederick and Mary (Hoskovic) Turnier and was raised there. He moved to Derry in 1957 formerly living in Long Island, NY. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and served with the 5th Army 1st Armored Division in Italy. He and his wife had owned and operated Skylark Motel in Derry and the Parkview Motel in Salem, NH. He was a communicant of St.Thomas Aquinas Church of Derry and also and avid sports fan.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy F. (Sweeney) Turnier of Derry, two daughters, Gail Newcomb of Corpus Christi, TX, Dorothy Nelson Turnier of Houston, TX, one son, Fredric J. Turnier of Greenfield, MA, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews.
There were no calling hours. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday March 15th at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry, NH 03038.
