Avis was the daughter of Samuel and Arshalooys Terzian who immigrated from Armenia in the early 1900's and established Pleasant View Dairy in Whitman, where Avis lived her entire life with her two sisters.

She and her late husband, Carl, the love of her life whom she met on a dude ranch in upstate NY, built their home on the 60-acre family farm where she raised her two children. Avis had a deep love for animals and loved to share stories of her days on the farm milking cows in the morning before going to work at Whitman Savings Bank.

Avis was an avid equestrian and a proud member of the 'Rough Riders' where she enjoyed performing at rodeos and parades all over southeastern MA and later continued this passion coaching her daughter showing horses throughout New England.

Avis was also known for her passion of football and was a huge Patriots fan collecting memorabilia of Tom Brady and Gronk and anything that involved Clint Eastwood. Avis was a 1952 graduate of Whitman High school and a lifelong member of Whitman United Methodist Church.

Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Eric of Whitman, daughter Robin of Bedford, VA, sister Alice (Gary) Tavitian, nieces Susan Gierej of South Dennis, Diana (Alan) Marcotte of Billerica, and nephew Mark (Nancy) Tavitian of Boston, grandnephews Alex Gierej, Samuel Tavitian, and grandniece Samantha Marcotte, brother-in-law Ara Manoogian.
In addition to her husband, Avis was preceded in death by her sister Ruth, and nephew Gregory Manoogian.

The family wants to thank Hospice of the South Shore and North River Home Care, especially Jen, for their kindness and caring.

Memorials may be made to the Whitman United Methodist Church.
