Ann, born June 29, 1930, was raised on a farm near River Falls, WI. After high school she attended the Miller Hospital School of Nursing and graduated as an LPN. She worked at Miller Hospital in St. Paul and North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale. After she earned her "Put Hubby Through” (her PHT) degree, she became the loving mother of four children. As the children grew, she became a very active volunteer in several community organizations. At the top of her list, for over 25 years, was the Maplewood Nature Center. Her trail name was “Chickadee Ann”. Other volunteering included MOMS program at the St. Paul’s Priory, Life Care Center, St. John's Hospital, 4-H Club leader, and CCW at Church of St. Peter. Ann, a very devout Christian, was a very kind and gentle person. Humble beyond words, always finding the good in every person, without any judgement. Her family meant the world to her. She loved nature and everything about it, especially feeding and watching her birds, gardening and simply being in the great outdoors.
