Joseph Colicchio, age 91, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL passed away March 8th. He was the beloved husband of the late Janet (Davis). Born in East Boston he was the son of the late Nicola and Agnes (Cornell) Colicchio.
Mr. Colicchio was a retired postal clerk. He worked for the United Steates Postal Service for more than twenty-five years. Prior to working as a postal clerk he worked for a number of years as a machinist at the Watertown Arsenal and as a young man he also worked as a barber with his father and enjoyed barbering as hobby throughout his life.
Mr. Colicchio was a United States Army Veteran of WWII serving from 1943 to 1946.
He is survived by his four devoted daughters, Sheila Goodhue of Florida, Margaret Diaute of Braintree, Frances Brady of Florida and Marie Jernigan of North Carolina. He is also survived by nine loving grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He is further survived by his sisters, Mildred Strandberg of Reading, Frances Savage of Vermont and one brother, the Honorable Neil Colicchio of Tewksbury. He is predeceased by his sisters Margaret Walker and Mary Mantica.
At the request of Mr. Colicchio and his family, funeral services will be private.
