Ruth P. Salemme, 89, of Derry, NH, died Friday, March 10, 2006 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. Mrs. Salemme was born in Revere, MA on May 3, 1916, a daughter of the late George and Nelle Phillips. She was a resident of Derry since 1998, formerly living in Revere for most of her life. She had been employed as a clerk for Harvard University.
She is survived by two nephews, Joseph Petro of Londonderry, NH, and Steven M. Petro of Methuen, MA; one niece, Lucille Petro of Florida, one grand nephew, one grand niece, and one great grand niece. She was predeceased by her husband Paschale Salemme who died in 1969.
There were no calling hours. Private burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Derry/Salem Home Health & Hospice Services, 1E Commons Dr., Unit 31, Londonderry, NH 03053. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry handled the arrangements.
