Obituary

Farther Henry Dahl of Sun City, AZ passed away Sunday, November 22nd as the result of an automobile accident. He was the former pastor of Saint Peter the Apostle Parish in Provincetown, MA.

A native of Staten Island, Fr. Dahl served in the US Air Force for 4 years. He had a business career in retail credit and personnel management before entering the seminary at Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell CT. In 1992, he earned his Master's Degree in Theology and Divinity. He was ordained by then- Bishop Sean O’Malley in St Mary’s Cathedral, Fall River on June 8, 1996. He served the Diocese of Fall River in diocesan, hospital and parish assignments.

While in Provincetown, he was active in many community events and served as Chaplain for the Walter Welsh Council, Knights of Columbus. Father Dahl was also faced with the major task of rebuilding the parish church when, in the worst of a winter snowstorm, the church burned to the ground. It was up to him to lead the rebuilding effort. With help from the community, it was completed in two-and-a-half years.

Upon his retirement, he moved to Sun City, AZ and continued his ministry at local parishes in the Sun City area.

He is survived by his sisters, Sandra J. Oefinger of San Antonio, Texas, and Deborrah J. Davenport and husband John of San Antonio; his brothers, Jack H. Dahl of Mooresville, N.C., and Jeff R. Landrum and wife Esther of San Antonio; and by many nieces and nephews.
