Obituary

WEBSTER – Joseph M. “Joe G.” Grivalski, 58, died Friday, November 27, 2020 at Harrington Healthcare at Hubbard after being stricken ill at home.

He leaves a brother, Andrew J. Grivalski, Jr. of Uxbridge; a sister, Sandra L. Murphy Mancini of Putnam, CT; 3 nephews, Jeff and John Corbett and Eric Murphy; 3 nieces, Kelly Gaboury and Kerri Williams; 10 great-nephews and great-nieces; and his best friend and radio co-host, Derek Moison of Webster.

He was born in Webster on August 23, 1962, a son of Andrew J. Grivalski, Sr. and Lillian M. (Laliberty) Grivalski and lived here most of his life. He graduated from Bay Path Regional Technical Vocational High School in Charlton in 1980.

Mr. Grivalski, popularly known as “Joe G.,” worked as an announcer at radio station Ql00 FM and at WESO 970 AM, both in Southbridge, and more recently at WGFP 940 AM in Webster. He was the announcer at Indian Ranch summer country music shows for 25 years, introducing Johnny Cash in his first year. He knew many celebrities on a personal basis. He was also a disc jockey for parties and special events during his long career. He enjoyed traveling to Nashville, TN.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 4, in Saint Anthony’s Cemetery, Old Worcester Road. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, December 3, in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street. Current health guidelines will be in place and everyone is expected to wear a mask.
