Worcester—Jane (Beyer) Pachesis, 80, formerly of 28 Ridgewood Road, died peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2006. Her husband of 42 years, Alphonse Pachesis, died in 2000. She leaves a brother, William E. Beyer of Brockton, and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Bertrand and Edith (Hamm) Beyer and was a graduate of North High and Salter Secretarial School. Jane was a member of Greendale People’s Church. She was a medical secretary for Dr. Johnson for 20 years and then worked at State Mutual until her retirement. As a member of the Appalachian Ski Club, she once hiked Tuckerman’s Ravine for Spring skiing. Upon reaching the headwall, Jane opted to hike back down rather than skiing the bowl. She was an avid archer and won the State Archery Crown in 1959 and was the Women’s State Archery Champion in 1959, 1960, and 1961. She also was a beautiful seamstress, an avid gardener, and an animal lover—especially dogs. Her most recent hobby was painting in watercolors.
