Mr. George R. Cairns, a longtime resident of Andover, died Sunday, March 5, 2006, in Florida. He was 71 years old.
Mr. Cairns was a resident of Vero Beach and Sebastian, Florida for the past ten years. He was born in Andover, Massachusetts, July 27 1934. Mr. Cairns founded George Cairns & Sons.
He is survived by his former wife of 46 years, Arlene (Pariseau) Cairns of Vero Beach, Florida; daughter Linda and her husband Robert Gostanian of Andover; three sons Robert G. and his wife Rhonda Cairns of Londonderry, New Hampshire, Garry M. Cairns and his wife Marion Beattle of Salem, New Hampshire and Glenn and his wife Jane Cairns of Andover; nine grandchildren, Alexander, Zachary and Jacob Gostanian and Matthew, Ryan, Jordan, Taylor, Rebecca and Leah Cairns and one niece and one nephew.
Many relatives and friends attended a memorial mass on Monday, March 13, 2006, at 10:30 AM, that was held in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, ANDOVER. Calling hours were Sunday, March 12, 2006, in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home 390 North Main Street, Andover.
