Obituary

Anthony M. Salemi, age 74. of Winchester, died following a lengthy illness, Wednesday, March 8th at the Hospice by the Sea of Boca Raton, Florida. He was the beloved husband of Genevieve “Jean” (Maggiore). Born in Somerville he was the son of the late Paul and Thomasina (Casaccio) Salemi.

Mr. Salemi was a Winchester resident for nearly fifty years and also spent many winters at his home in Boca Raton, FL. He served as a radio technician with the United States Navy during the Korean War.

He and his partners worked as real estate developers for many years and was considered to be one of the first pioneers in developing Woburn´s Industrial Parks.

Mr. Salemi was a devoted New England Patriots fan and was also an avid golfer. He was active in the Winchester community as a Little League Baseball coach and donated his time and talents to many churches and charities.

In addition to his adoring wife, he is survived by his children, Anthony Salemi and his wife Gladys of Boca Raton, FL, Michael J. Salemi and his wife Karyn of Woburn, Stephen R. Salemi and his wife Cheryl of Billerica, Michelle B. Ferranti and her husband Tony of Woburn. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Anthony and James Salemi, Erica, Michael and Brian Salemi, Stephen, Jacqueline, Philip and Danielle Salemi, Anthony David and Melissa Ferranti. He is further survived by his brother Paul D. Salemi and his wife Barbara of Sharon, and his in-laws Frank and Annette Michienzi of Winchester, Joseph and Phyllis Maggiore of Woburn, Anthony and Judith Maggiore of Scottsdale, AZ and several loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Tuseday, March 14th, at 10 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church 138 Cambridge Rd. Woburn, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 2 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
