Ellen M. (Murch) Murphy, age 79, of Norton, passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Murphy, who died in 2009.
Born in Boston, MA on September 10, 1941, she was a loving daughter of the late Herbert Arthur Murch and Edna Mae (Boudrot) Murch.
Ellen grew up in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston and was educated in Boston schools. Prior to retiring, she had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the former Country Haven Nursing Home in Norton and previously at the Eastbrook Nursing Home in Dedham.
Mrs. Murphy had made her home in Norton for twenty-six years and had also resided in Benton, Maine for six years. Her happiest times were those spent in the presence of her adoring family. She was a remarkable cook, enjoyed gardening and music and had a sweet tooth for attending area casinos.
She is survived by her devoted children: Marie Bat’el of Oregon, Michelle McGrath and her husband Keith of Onset, Gerard Cribbie of Gardner, Steven Cribbie and his wife Rebecca of Oklahoma, Victoria Shade and her husband Steven of Norton, Devina Vaillancourt and her husband Gregory of Texas, Samantha Boisclair and her husband Terry of Randolph and Ckylah Murphy of Norton. She was the cherished grandmother of Ashley, Alexandrea, John, Miranda, Sarah, Timothy, Jillian, Lynkin, Ellena and Savannah. She was the dear sister of Donna Cree of Quincy, Paula Miller of Mississippi and the late Joan, Barbara, Claire, Carol and Aurthur. She is also survived by her loving great grandchildren, as well as her nieces and nephews.
Services, along with burial at the Cedar Knoll Cemetery in East Taunton will be private and visiting hours have been omitted.
