Obituary

Brenda Jean White, aged 59, passed away at her home on November 4th, 2020 after a long battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer.

Brenda was born on March 25, 1961 in Holden MA to Francis and Jean Ann Hathaway. Both of her parents and older brother Kent have passed on. She leaves behind one brother, James Hathaway as well as many beloved aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her greatest love was her family. Daughters Rhiannon and Elizabeth White, and Husband Edwin White. Her most recent joy was becoming a Grandmother to Scarlette Lowe, born in 2018. Brenda was a fierce ‘Mama Bear’, a loving wife, and adoring ‘Mimi.’ She always made sure her family was happy, healthy and cared for.

Brenda graduated from Westfield State University with a degree in psychology, and later received a degree in Addiction Counseling. When she wasn’t taking care of her family, she dedicated her time to helping those in recovery.

She enjoyed gardening, having breakfast with her friends at Betsy’s Diner, baby-sitting her granddaughter, going to the movies or getting her nails done with her daughters and spending time relaxing at home or traveling with her husband, Edwin. Brenda tackled each day with unimaginable faith and optimism. She took on each obstacle with a smile and a positive attitude. She was a beacon of light for all who knew her. She was always available to lend a helping hand or listening ear. Her greatest wish is for those she left behind to remember her with happiness and laughter.

Brenda wanted to be remembered in a joyful environment where her family and friends could share stories, laugh and dance. Because of the current COVID-19 restrictions, her family is going to wait until spring to have a celebration of life.
