June G. Roy, 78, of Raymond, NH, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 in the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH. Mrs. Roy was born in Boston, MA on June 17, 1927, a daughter of the late Howard D. and Sadie (McLeod) Simmons. She was a resident of Raymond for the past 26 years, formerly living in Derry, NH, Andover, MA and Rochester, NY. While living in Rochester, NY, she was a Past Grand Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star, and had also worked as a model for the Kodak Corp. in Rochester. She more recently was employed as a vendor follow-up specialist for Raytheon Corp. in Andover, MA for 17 years, retiring in the late 1970's. She was an avid artist and enjoyed oil painting and cooking. She enjoyed golfing and snowmobiling when she was younger.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred Roy of Raymond, one son, Jeffery M. Harris of Van Buren, AR, two daughters, Stephanie J. Harris of Sandown, NH, Janet E. Bartholomew and husband Mark of Gilford, NH, two step daughters, Andrea J. LaPointe of St. Helens, OR, Judith L. Reynolds of Warren, OR, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one brother, Howard D. Simmons of PA and FL, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Sunday, March 12, 2006 from 1 - 4pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 13th at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc., Northeast Affiliate, 2 Wall St., Manchester, NH 03101.
