Obituary

“USMichael D. "Mike" Lacey, a resident of Melrose and former longtime resident of Charlestown and Revere, entered into eternal life on Sunday, November 15, 2020, a year to the day his beloved wife Linda passed away on November 15, 2019. Mike was 73 years of age.

Mike was born in Boston on January 12, 1947, a son of the late George F. Lacey and Elvie K. (Kepple) Lacey. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1966. Mike enlisted into the United States Marine Corps on September 20, 1966 and served his country faithfully and with courage during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged on September 19, 1968 with the rank of Lance Corporal. Mike worked as a Laborer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Public Works Department and retired following 33 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Somerville V.F. W. Post # 6800 and Boston American Legion Post # 462. Mike enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife to Turks & Caicos and spent over 20 years vacationing in Maine at the Pinehurst Campground.

Mike is the beloved husband of the late Linda J. (Flammini) Lacey. He is the devoted father of Melissa Darrah, Michael D. Lacey Jr. and Heather Lacey. He is the loving Papa to William, Briana, Michael, Maureen, Kyle, Kiley, Kassidy, Patrick, Alyssa, Makala, Graham, Nkeema, Jordan, Stephan and his great-grandson Jamariyon. He is the beloved brother of the late George "Buddy" Lacey Jr. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mike's visiting hours on Thursday morning, November 19, 2020 from 9 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. His burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. (FAIAL COVERINGS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED INSIDE CHURCH AND FUNERAL HOME).
