Obituary

Regina Mary (Cuddyer) Policastro of Mission Hill, 68, died after a brief illness on November 13, 2020.

She was a native of Jamaica Plain, attended Cathederal High School and attended Suffolk and Harvard University. She was a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor at Brigham and Woman's Southern Jamaica Plain Clinic for over 20 years.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years: James C. Policastro of Mission Hill, her devoted children John Policastro of Jamaica Plain, James Policastro of Vineyard Haven, David Policastro of Somerville, and Mary Policastro of Philadelphia. She was predeceased by her parents William Henry Cuddyer and Mary Frances Cuddyer of Jamaica Plain. She is also survived by her brothers Thomas Cuddyer of Laguna Beach, California, Brian Cuddyer of San Marcos, California and Paul Cuddyer of Rancho Santo Margarita, California, William Cuddyer of Jamaica Plain and sister Nancy Cuddyer of Jamaica Plain. She leaves many loving brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews all of whom she adored.

She was a devoted mother and homemaker and was truly dedicated to her children and their education. She was an avid reader; loved the beach and fishing with her husband and children during the summers on Martha’s Vineyard and eventually winters in Costa Rica. She loved to travel and visited much of the US and Europe. She was especially at peace watching the sunset in her beloved Menemsha or in her garden with her dog Mayday and a book by her side.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Regina's visiting hours on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning, November 20, 2020 at 10 A.M. in The Mission Church, 1545 Tremont St. Boston. (GO directly to church). Her burial will be private. (FACIAL COVERINGS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED INSIDE FUNERAL HOME AND CHURCH).

Her family asks that you listen to some Peter Gabriel in her memory and to stay safe, which is what she would have wanted most.
