FALL RIVER - Armando DeFreitas, 75 of Fall River, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at St. Anne’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Maria de Fatima DeFreitas. Born in Furnas, São Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio Moniz and Maria de Jesus (Amaral) Freitas. Armando worked for Quaker Mfg. until he retired. He was a passionate soccer fan, his favorite team was F.C. Porto. He enjoyed gardening and traveling with his wife to Furnas. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Besides his wife he leaves four children, Luis Freitas and his wife Connie of Somerset, Gabriela Massa and her husband Pedro of Fall River, Lucia Rodrigues and her husband Mario of Fall River, Ana Paula Medeiros and her husband Mario of East Providence, eight grandchildren, Alexander Freitas, Rafael Camara, Cameron Freitas, Emily Rodrigues, Ethan Medeiros, Marisol Camara, Timothy Rodrigues and Leanna Medeiros, three brothers, Antonio Freitas and his wife Conceião of Brampton,OT, José Manuel Freitas and his wife Liduina of Fall River, Luis Freitas and his wife Mariazinha of Fall River, three sisters, Graça Pimentel and her late husband Antonio, Fatima Pimentel and her husband Jaime, Maria de Jesus Almeida and her husband Emanuel all of Fall River, a sister-in-law, Ana Freitas. He was the brother of the late Mario Freitas.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, from 5-7 PM in the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 in St. Michael Church Essex St. Fall River at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. The guidelines set forth by State of Massachusetts will be observed, face coverings are required and 25 people will be allowed in at a time.
