Porter - Michael E. O'Brien, 65, of Porter died at his home on November 12, 2020 after a battle with health issues. He was born on June 14, 1955 a son of Edward and Violet (Chase) O'Brien Sr. He was educated in Limerick schools and a graduate of Massabesic High School.
Michael worked as a self employed carpenter his whole life. He was very accomplished at his craft and was very proud of his work over the years.
He loved to be outdoors in his spare time. A favorite activity was fishing. He was a Boston sports fan as well as a Nascar fan. He also collected antique bottles and enjoyed being with his beloved dog. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He enjoyed watching his own grandkids play with the other neighborhood kids in his yard as well. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by 2 sisters, Deborah and Tammy, and 4 brothers, Patrick "Shane", Scott, Jeff and Edward "Duke" O'Brien. Surviving are his long time partner, Diane Baird of Porter; his son, Dusty O'Brien and significant other Lauren Edgerly of Parsonsfield; his stepson Jake (Diane's son); six grandchildren: Haven, Addison, Brendan, Aidan, Jaxson and Liam; and last but not least, his dog "Zeke".
The family will host a celebration of his life on Saturday, November 21, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Sacopee Rescue Barn next to the Hiram town office. Please follow state guidelines for masks, social distancing, and attendance. Online condolences may be expressed at: www.mainefuneral.com
