Marie L. “Mercedes” Clavin, 87 years, died Sunday at the Brockton Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born and raised in Haiti, she was the daughter of the late Destin and Zilliatrice (Ozarmours) Clavin. She had been a resident of Brockton since 2002. Prior to her move in 2002 she enjoyed traveling from Haiti to visit her family here since 1975. While living in Haiti she was employed as a sales clerk in food and clothing boutiques. Marie enjoyed cooking and planting in her flower garden.
She is survived by her daughter Rose Marie Clavin of Brockton, three grandchildren, Sandra Renaudin, Fritz Albert L. Jean and Fritz Gerald Clavin and five great grandchildren, Cassandra, Ashley, Fritz Jr., Jean den and Josua.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, Brockton Saturday at 10am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 7-9 pm.
