Obituary

Gil was born and raised in Ventura in 1940. He passed away on October 30, 2020. He lived on Ventura Avenue near the historic "Salad Bowl" then moved in his teenage year to the south part of Ventura. Gill worked at various places including Statham where he met and later married Della. He retired from Northrup Grumman where he was a machinist working on F-14 Jets. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 232
Gil Loved to watch and attend car races.He also enjoyed going to Vegas, Laughlin, and traveling in general as well as camping.
Gil is preceded in death in death by his parents, Antonio and Mary Garcia, sister Joan Schell, son Gilbert Garcia, and granddaughter Valarie Garcia.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 43 years, Della Garcia, his daughters Peggy, Crystal Schultz and Debbie Garcia, grandkids and various nieces and nephews.
Gil will always be remembered as you see the Tortilla Flats Mural on Figueroa Street underpass in Ventura as the little kid in the wagon "Lover."
