Obituary

Passed away on November 3, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Bill was born on December 5, 1945 to Leonard and Erna (Bruggemann) Luke.

Bill was born in St. Paul, MN but moved to Texas City, TX in 1957, where he and his best friend, Quinton Bias, would fish for gar in the Gulf of Mexico. When successful, they would sell the fish for spending money.

Bill joined the Marine Corps in 1964. He proudly served two tours of duty in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1968.

He married Diane Mielzarek on January 22, 1972.

Bill loved fishing and hunting. Everyone who knew him heard his fish tales and saw his trophy photo book.

Bill is survived by his wife Diane, his daughters: Taya (Jesse), Rachel (Danny), Katie (Tariq), his grandchildren Meghan, Jake, Ayah, Liv, Sarah, Danyah, Zeezo, his great granddaughter Leni, his sister, Dianne, and the Luke and Mielzarek families.

Visitation Monday (November 9, 2020) from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul. Funeral Service Tuesday at the Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with a Visitation starting at 10:00. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
