Obituary

STEEP FALLS- Ricky Roger Libby, age 63, passed away on November 2, 2020, at The Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough after fighting a courageous battle with a longtime illness.
He was born in South Portland, Maine on June 10, 1957, a son of the late Roland and Lorraine (Bourque) Libby. One of six children, he is predeceased by his brothers, Robert Libby, Phillip Libby and Paul (Mike) Libby. Ricky is survived by his brother Roland (Joe) Libby, Jr. and wife Ester, sister Linda Kennedy, daughter Rickelle Ward, stepdaughter Tomisa (Talbot) Currier and husband Craig, longtime companion Dorene (Dee) Day and their dog Bobo. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and other family members.
Ricky had different jobs during the early part of his life but he was always a “Jack of all trades” when it came to home improvements. Self-taught, these skills allowed him to always help his friends and family with any projects they had. He excelled in painting houses (interior and exterior) and always enjoyed doing it. Ricky enjoyed being outside all year round. One of his passions was fishing. He loved to grab a couple of his fishing poles and head to a lake or the ocean and spent hours at a time, catching fish and enjoying a “few” beers. He loved listening to Bob Seger, which was his favorite singer. He also loved snowmobiling, boating and just hopping in his car to go for a ride to visit family and friends. He might not even tell you he was stopping by; he would just show up to say hi and that was ok! He loved animals and had 5 dogs and 2 cats throughout his adult life that meant the world to him. Ricky was a big guy with an even bigger heart and an amazing smile. If you needed something, he would always offer to help you if he could. He will be forever loved and missed by everyone that knew him.
A graveside service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Friendship Cemetery on Richville Rd, located in Standish, Maine.
