Obituary

Phyllis Marie Hamilton, 55 of Medford, formerly of Somerville died Monday at home after a lengthy illness.

Born in Revere, she was the daughter of the late Henry and the late Mary (Bird) Hamilton.

Educated in Somerville schools, Ms. Hamilton worked as a cardiac technician at the Winchester Hospital up untill taking ill.

Known for her example of courage and strength to many friends and her family, Phyllis is also remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. As a gifted artist, Phyllis had a special interest in painting and drawing.

A 26 year friend of Bill W. , Ms. Hamilton was active in CASPAR and a co-founder of Women’s Place in Cambridge.

Beloved life partner of Rose Schena and their loving pet Cotton. Devoted sister of Barbara Poirier, Ruth Hamilton and her partner Joan Thomas all of Everett, Henry W. Hamilton and his wife Pauline of Revere, and Jeannette Loughman of Malden. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford/Somerville, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Visiting hours Wednesday 2 - 4 and 7 – 9.

Services will conclude with burial at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
