New Bedford - Angelina Reis (Vieira) Vieira, age 75, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Artur O. Vieira.
Born in Agua de Pau, St. Michael, Azores she was the daughter of the late Jose Vieira Favela and Angelina (Reis) Vieira. Angelina had worked for Alden Shoes for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Artur; 2 daughters, Zelia Vertentes and her husband John and Susan R. Vieira; 3 grandchildren, Brandon Correia, Cassie Tabares and Keegan Vertentes; 1 great-grandchild, Bryson Tabares; 3 sisters, Ines Sousa, Conceicao Sousa and Eduarda Torres of Portugal; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Arthur Vieira and late Susana Vieira.
Angelina’s visiting hours and funeral services will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020. Visiting hours will take place from 8:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can kindly be made “In Memory of Angelina” to St. Jude’s Hospital.
All attendees are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering at all times, to social distance 6 feet and to please refrain from any close physical contact. Attendance in the funeral home will be limited in order to meet the mandated capacity restrictions and could result with a wait time outside of the funeral home.
