Beverly: Robert J. Francis, Sr., age 61 died suddenly Monday morning at the Beverly Hospital. He was the husband of Pauline J. (Michaud) Francis with whom he shared nearly 41 years of marriage.
Born in Boston and raised in Gloucester, he worked in the warehouses of several companies including, Gail Shoe Co. and Duchess Shoe Co., both formerly of Salem as well as the Eagle Can Co. of Peabody. For the past 9 years Robert was employed in the warehouse for the Johnny Appleseed Co. of Beverly.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons: Robert J., Jr., and his wife Marie L. Francis of Beverly, Michael R. Francis of Beverly, 1 daughter: Laurie A. Francis of Beverly, 1 brother: Patrick Francis of Florida, 3 step-brothers: Richard Messier & Richard Walsh both of Gloucester & Philip Wanat of Vermont. Mr. Francis is also survived by a grandson: Michael J. Francis and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 9 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem followed by his funeral mass in St. James Church, 156 Federal St., Salem at 10 am. Visiting hours: Wednesday 4 to 8 pm. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., P. O.
