Obituary

Mary Faye Paulk Bostick, 79, of Ocilla, Georgia, passed away Friday, October 23, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family.

Private graveside services will be held at Brushy Creek Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia.

Mrs. Bostick was born December 27, 1940, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late James W. & Rebecca Roberts Paulk. She lived in the community all of her life and was a homemaker. She graduated from Irwin County High School and later received her Associate’s degree in Business. Mrs. Bostick was a member of Ocilla Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was known best as Grandma/Granny Faye and she loved her family fiercely. After many years in the public sector, she chose to stay home and care for her family. She spent years making sure her children got to “every” dance recital, football game, softball game & music lesson as well as 4-H activities and then she would stay up late to put up vegetables and jams or mend that pair of pants or replace a button. She was a “Supermom” before the phrase was ever coined. She also loved flower and vegetable gardening, riding the lawnmower, fishing, and looking through cookbooks. She was an amazing cook who loved swinging on the front porch with Dub, discussing who was driving up & down the road, listening to the birds & wind-chimes & drinking sweet tea. She also enjoyed thrift shopping & yard selling with her 2 favorite side kicks Kathleen and Suzanne. She loved visits on the front porch with her children and grandchildren & of course a glass or 2 of sweet tea.

She is survived by her children: Kathleen Bostick Miller & Cal Miller of Chula, Michael Bostick & Mandy Bostick of Irwin County, and Suzanne Bostick Williams & Steve Williams of Irwin County; grandchildren: Zachary & Vanessa Miller, Rebecca Miller, Hailey Young, Becca Anne Bostick, Bain Bostick, Bella Bostick, and Elizabeth Faye Leggett; great-grandchildren: Adaline Kate Miller and Leia Grace Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry “Dub” Bostick.

In the darkness of night an Angel took flight. Heaven bound to receive her crown. Fly high Mama, fly high...
