DREW, Albert F. age 87 of Walpole, MA, formerly of Norwood, MA and Vero Beach, FL passed away peacefully October 21, 2020 in the loving care of his two sons. Beloved husband of the late Joan K. (MacDonald). Father of Albert F. Drew, Jr. and his wife Julie of Waltham and Scott M. Drew and his wife Janice of Marshfield. Cherished grandfather of Matthew Drew and his wife Shannon, Jacqueline Drew Bush and her husband Justin and Nicole Drew. Great-grandfather of Easton Drew. Devoted brother of Pauline O’Donovan and her late husband Jim of Somerville, Ora Gear and her late husband Bill of Braintree, Jean Mangone and her late husband Pat of Somerville, Beverly Hooley and her husband Terry of Quincy, and Fred Drew and his wife Peggy of Epsom, NH. Also survived and loved by many nieces and nephews.
Albert F. Drew was born in Boston, MA, he was raised in Jamaica Plain, MA. Al and his wife Joan were residents of Norwood, MA for 35 years and lived out their later years residents of Walpole, MA. Al served four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He had a very successful career at Star Market holding positions of Department Manager, Store Director as well as District Manager. Al ended his career as Director of Maintenance for Star Market for 35 years. He retired at 56 at which time he moved to Vero Beach, FLA to enjoy and devote all his time to his adoring wife Joan. They decided to make the move back to MA and resided in Walpole to remain close to family and friends. Al was so proud to be the grandfather of 3 adoring grandchildren and most recently a great grandson.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Friday, October 30th from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass to celebrate and honor Al’s life will be private. Interment Mt. Benedict Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Albert’s memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
